Long hemp bast fiber is derived from the outer layer of the hemp stalk and is valued for its exceptional strength, length, and versatility. This fiber is field retted and mechanically decorticated, preserving its natural integrity while maintaining long fiber lengths ideal for structural and textile-related applications.
With fiber lengths ranging from approximately 2 to 7 inches, this material offers excellent tensile strength and flexibility, making it particularly well-suited for applications that benefit from longer fiber reinforcement. While not combed or aligned, the fiber retains its natural form, allowing for efficient processing across a wide range of industrial uses.
Textiles, Rope & Paper Applications
The extended fiber length makes this product ideal for use in twine, rope, nonwoven materials, and specialty paper products. Hemp’s inherent strength and durability provide excellent performance in applications requiring long-lasting, natural fibers.
